“Mark and the whole team at MBI were amazing. We are very satisfied with the whole process, from lot selection, to design selections (both interior and exterior), through the actual build process, and now post-closing support. The communication and responsiveness throughout the whole process were excellent, and any issues or concerns were addressed in a very timely and appropriate manner. “Two years ago, my wife and I purchased a vacation home in Woodland Park, Colorado. As you would expect, we wanted it to be our dream cottage. Needless to say, we have not been disappointed. It is everything we had hoped for and more. MBI Contractors (Mark McNab) did a fabulous job of designing and building the home. “My wife and I recently purchased a new MBI-built home. We worked with MBI for about six months prior to closing on what we wanted in our new home. We could not be happier with the working relationship and service we got from the good folks at MBI. Mark & Daniel were always receptive to changes and modifications, working closely with us throughout the process. After closing, MBI has been very responsive in fixing anything we have found that needed attention (as is inevitable with any new home). One aspect of working with MBI we found very attractive was that they are not a big (and impersonal) construction firm mass-producing houses one after the other (such as you see going up in eastern Colorado Springs). Also, the quality inherent in MBI construction is excellent. Our new home feels ‘solid’ and well-built. Mark and Daniel (the face and hands of MBI) took as much time as necessary to discuss our options, as well as outline timelines and potential challenges so that we felt we were getting a home built to our tastes, and not some cookie-cutter home that was identical to every other home in the subdivision. The entire transaction was something closer to working with friends and neighbors (early on Mark and Daniel gave us their personal phone numbers and made it clear we could call anytime we wished). MBI’s style and culture is a great fit for a relaxed, small town such as Woodland Park. It was a positive experience from start to finish. Bottom line is that I would give the folks at MBI my highest recommendation.“
“My wife and I contracted with MBI Contractors for new construction in Teller County. We were new to the area, and we weren’t familiar with the various types of construction techniques best suited to the terrain or climate. Mark explained the benefits of his construction techniques, including an insulating concrete form (ICF) crawl space type foundation. Mark, along with his project manager, Daniel, went over every detail of the construction contract with us numerous times, until we fully understood the terms and felt comfortable signing the contract. Construction was completed on time and as budgeted. Mark used high quality materials in our house — floors, baseboards, sockets, fixtures, lighting, countertops, doors, cabinets, etc. The house has lots of windows, excellent lighting, contemporary design features, and a nice airy, floor plan. The house is well insulated and very quiet. We love our new Colorado home. The finished product exceeded our expectations.“
“I wish there was an option for 10 stars! After a 26-year career in the US Air Force, my wife and I dreamed of the day when we could build the custom home of our dreams in the Colorado mountains. Mark and his team surpassed our highest expectations. During the design phase, Mark demonstrated unmatched creativity with an unrelenting eye for adding true value at every opportunity. He incorporated my ideas into the specifics of our view lot and developed a strategy to blend the home into the surrounding area. I was especially impressed with how Mark and the entire MBI team could tell me exactly where my money was going, and outlined a realistic budget that preserved the personality and quality of our home, without simply gold-plating everything he saw. During construction, we encountered soil problems that challenged our budget, and Mark worked closely with the engineers to ensure that the soil problems were addressed and solved with the utmost care and to the highest engineering standards. Throughout the construction phase, Mark personally visited and provided guidance to both his team and his sub-contractors every single day—he took ownership of the project and ensured the highest standards. I have to tell you: Mark is not at all easy on his subs. He expects them to demonstrate the same attention to detail and dedication to quality that he shows in everything he does. As one sub commented, “Mark is a pain in my butt and doesn’t cut me any slack—but I want to be part of his projects because they are so amazing.” We have lived in our home now for two years, and I am still dazzled by the quality, the workmanship, and the artistry that Mark put into our mountain home. The home is incredibly solid and energy-efficient. I know I said this before, but the attention to detail is beyond my wildest and highest expectations. As a money-saving venture, I asked that Mark only partially finish our bonus room, but now that we are stabilized in our post-US Air Force transition, there is absolutely no one else who I will allow to work on our dream home. Mark will be the one who finishes the project this winter. Finally, I want to tell you about how the last two years went, as we worked through the “punch list” of items that popped up since we moved into the home. Mark was unbelievably responsive and stood behind his work. The problems were all cosmetic and very rare…but the fact remains that he had someone on site to fix the problem in one visit…each time…and in less than 72 hours of my notification. Mark demonstrated…and continues to demonstrate…the highest sense of ethics, dedication, and pride in workmanship. I simply cannot be happier…and Mark EARNED my highest endorsement.“
“Greatest home buying experience we’ve ever had. We wish they had all been this pleasant. The home was finished on time and with a level of quality we had not experienced before. A great deal of detail went into every part of the process, and even the placement of the house on the lot shows a lot of forethought. Way to go, MBI! A great company that we highly recommend.
